Milo's first week of camp

Milo had his first week of camp at Schoolhouse of Wonder this week. Here he is with his new best buddy.

The night before the first day of camp, Milo was very excited. He said, "I bet there will be a lot of really good sticks there."

After the little kids' camp, which let out at 3:00, Milo met Lucie in the older kids' camp. One day he showed the older kids how to catch tadpoles, and today he was the last person standing on his team in Sock Wars. Everyone was cheering, "Go, Milo!"

One of the counselors asked Milo one day, "What do you like best about your sister, Lucie?" Milo said, "She's mine."

Chicken update

Well, we suspected all along that Dusty was a rooster. This morning, when he started crowing, there was no more doubt. Here's Dusty -- the gray one in the middle -- when he was a baby.

I can't believe they were ever this small. No wonder we worried about a hawk getting them.

They used to like to flop down on the ground and soak up the sun. They still do that every now and then.

Now they look like this. Those are the hens in the foreground. I think Rowdy (the red hen) is a rare heritage breed known as a Buckeye. I think King (the white hen) is a Delaware.

Note Rowdy's pea comb. (I *think* that's a pea comb.)

Here's our rooster. To me, Dusty looks like a male cross between Rowdy and King. He's a beautiful bird, and I hope we can find a good home for him.

Valentine's Day violin performance

Lucie's violin group performed at the mall on the day before Valentine's Day. It was a beautiful happening in an improbable place.

New cameras

Nana and Papa gave Lucie a new camera for Christmas. Thank you, Nana and Papa! Here are some of the pictures she's taken with it.

Karen also got a new camera from Chris. It takes beautiful pictures. Here are the first two.

Milo kept sneaking pictures on Lucie's camera, so Karen gave him her old one. He is VERY excited about it. Here are some of his pictures.
