We were surprised to find Maggie Valley in a state of abandonment, the roadside restaurants and motels shuttered. (Soco Tower is for sale.) This summer may be your last chance to see Ghost Town in the Sky.

Collierville Greenbelt

Lucie got a bit tired on that walk.

At the Pink Palace Museum there was an exhibit of artifacts excavated during some of Brian's archeological digs in Memphis. It was really cool, and it left an impression on Milo. This weekend, he took a spade to the hillside in our backyard, saying he was going to "look for bottles like Uncle Brian."

We got to see the amazing animated carved wooden circus model in operation.

Milo got a toy bow and arrow in Cherokee. He liked trying to get it to stick to the plate glass window.

We saw the Lost Sea.

There was so much more that we simply did not take pictures of. The kids did not want to leave. Thanks, Nana and Papa, for the fun visit (and the cool head lamp).

Great Tennessee pictures! I cannot believe how grown up Milo looks these days! I guess we'll see him in person next weekend...
About the swimming... We take Sadie to the classes offered by Chapel Hill Parks and Rec at the new aquatics center on Homestead Road. The pool is great and there's an entire section shallow enough for toddlers to learn to swim without drowning. She's finished one session, and we enrolled her in two others for the summer. I wonder if Durham Parks and Rec offers childrens' swimming classes.
We'll definitely call next time we hike the Eno. Like you, I never found the swinging bridge particularly scary until Sadie came along. She likes to jump and bounce and lean over the sides, and I get a wee bit nervous.
