Language
Some mispronounciations that Lucie still maintains and that secretly charm us endlessly, noted here before she grows out of these last vestiges of baby talk.
skwing, as in "When we go to the park, will you push me on the skwing?"
becept, as in "Everyone in my class got in trouble today becept me. I got to go to the treasure box."
punkwin, as in "When are you going to make punkwin pie again?"
similar to
napwin, as in "I used my napwin but there's still some syrup on my face."
sumbarine, as in "We all live in a yellow sumbarine."
Curiously, she often uses the word 'is' in place of the pronoun 'they', as in "What are is doing?" or, in the case of K and L in a bathroom stall at the mall while a couple of teenage African-American girls were gossiping colorfully and loudly, "Are is talking our language?"

That other star
Lucie got a cool art history book for Christmas and, as a result, has been thinking a lot about Jesus. Last night, as she was falling asleep, she said, "Jesus' life was really much different from that other star's life." At first I thought she meant another character in one of the paintings, but she said no, she meant "that other star, the one that all those people dress up like in the movie." Oh, right -- Elvis! Lucie said, "Jesus was nailed to the cross, but Elvis just died at the end of his life, like normal." You're right, Lucie. Jesus' life was much different.

Birthday party
Today was L's friend Quinn's birthday party, and it was held on a farm in Orange County. Quinn's friends got to feed the chickens (and watch Quinn's dad hypnotize some of them), ride horses, and try a totally new mysterious food called 'cake'.

Lucie and Quinn on the farm

"Well, that's like hypnotizing chickens..."

When do we get cake?

Congestion
We all have colds this morning. L woke up wailing. "I can't smell! I can only see through my eyes, and that's it!"

Santa train

Tonight L went for a ride on the Santa train at the Museum of Life and Science with Wells, her old friend from Kin. We had hot chocolate and got some Santa light sabers, rode the train and saw Santa and Rudolph.
